Bilingual Therapist in Tulsa, OK
The village you've been looking for.
I'm Ruth, a bilingual therapist providing therapy in English and Spanish in person in Tulsa or online across Oklahoma.

I believe life was never meant to be walked alone.
As a bilingual therapist in Tulsa, Oklahoma, I quickly learned that the way we connect with others matters. Feeling understood, building trust, and having space to express ourselves shape how we experience healing and growth. Colibrí Counseling Services grew from my professional experience and personal understanding of community, grounded in the belief that connection is where meaningful change can begin.
I learned to sit in the hard moments.
My work taught me to look beneath the surface.
Early in my career, I had the honor to work alongside survivors of domestic violence, particularly infants, children, and families navigating the effects of trauma. I quickly learned that what we see on the outside is often only part of someone's story. A child's behavioral outburst, a parent's harsh response, or the distance between family members can be connected to experiences that are much deeper than what is happening in the moment.
I began to see the patterns.
As I continued working with families, I became more curious about what happens between people. How trauma, fear, disconnection, and the ways we learned to cope can shape the way we relate to ourselves and to each other. Sometimes the things we do make sense when we understand where they came from, even when they are no longer helping us where we are going.
Sometimes the patterns we learn lead us to behaviors that are unhealthy, unwanted, or even risky.
If we want to change those patterns, we have to be willing to see them.

I'M NOT AFRAID OF THE HARD MOMENTS.
In fact, I welcome them.
I want therapy to be a space where you can be honest, even when the truth is messy, or hard to say out loud. You don't need to have the right words, or know exactly what needs to change. We can figure that out together.
-
I don't just nod along. I challenge you when it's needed, with honesty, care, and grace.
-
I help you notice what's underneath. The patterns, the connections, the things you may not have realized were connected.
-
We'll laugh, too. Because therapy is hard, deep, and uncomfortable enough. It doesn't have to be serious every second.
-
I sit with you in the hard. I can handle the hard things, you don't have soften it, clean it up, or censor it.
-
We move toward growth. We don't just talk about what is happening, I teach you usable skills to help manage and reconnect.
